WHAT IS REALITY CHECK?
To remain
competitive in a global economy, the Triangle region must have a clear plan to
grow well. Reality Check is a half-day visioning exercise that engages 300
diverse stakeholders from around the region to tackle how best to accommodate
our expected population increase. On February 24, 2009, participants will
gather in diverse groups to discuss and, using legos representing new
population and job growth, make suggestions about where housing and jobs should
locate around our region over the next 25 years. On February 27, 2009, Reality
Check will present the exercise results to a larger group of stakeholders and
ask for feedback on the various growth scenarios.
Fifteen
counties are represented in the planning exercise: Alamance, Chatham, Durham, Franklin, Granville, Harnett, Johnston, Lee, Moore, Orange, Person, Vance, Wake, Warren and Wilson.
